| Testing the Input Volume |
| Before importing audio into CD Spin Doctor, it is a good idea to adjust the input volume of the audio you intend to import. |
| Which portion of the audio should I play to test the input volume? |
| To adjust the input volume: |
| 1 | Make sure you have created a new recording session (but that you have not begun importing yet), and that the Recording sheet is displayed. |
|
| 2 | If you want to hear the audio you are planning to record on your computer speakers or headphones, select the Play Input Through Speakers check box. |
| You can raise or lower the audio on your computer speakers or headphones by adjusting the volume control next to this check box. |
| | Note: | This does not affect the input volume, just the volume that you are hearing. |
|
| 3 | Begin playing the audio that you want to import. |
| | Note: | You are not yet importing or recording any audio. |
| As audio plays into CD Spin Doctor, the LEDs on the Input Volume Meter light up to display the recording input volume. |
|
| 4 | Using the Input Volume slider, raise or lower the input volume. |
|
| 5 | As the audio plays, adjust the level so that the Input Volume Meter does not display red LEDs. (Blue, green, and yellow are acceptable input volume LEDs.) If the loudest part of the LED lights reaches the red, the input volume is probably too loud. |
| 6 | When you are satisfied with the input volume, you are ready to record audio to CD Spin Doctor. |
